Prima Tooling specialize in the manufacture of quality tooling for the Woodworking Industry. 

Standard tools or 1-off specials can be tipped with Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD), Tungsten Carbide (TCT) or High Speed Steel (HSS). 

We produce a wide range of tools from TCT Dowel Drills and Router cutters to PCD Profile Router cutters, Profile spindle tooling and Saws.

The Company

Prima Tooling was formed in 1979 by three partners, each with 10 years experience of manufacturing woodworking tools in tungsten carbide and HSS.

Three years later, as business expanded, the company moved to leasehold premises in Romford, and purchased its first machine for grinding PCD.

At this stage, Prima had already identified PCD as the tooling material of the future, and put substantial resources into the long-term manufacture of PCD tooling.

1n 1987, Prima moved to its own factory in Brentwood, which has since doubled in size to accommodate the flourishing PCD side of the business.

Prima's success with PCD tooling has been brought about by utilizing the experience we gained in conventional woodworking tool manufacture to ensure that each PCD tool is exactly what each customer needs.

We don't just manufacture and sell PCD tools, we advise you, the customer, on what is the right tool for your particular application. If you have a problem, we'll help you to solve it. Even to the extent that if we think PCD tooling is not the answer, we'll tell you so.
